The days are getting shorter, the summer heat is fading, there are more cars in the cities and fewer parking spots—in short, summer vacation is coming to an end. But we’re looking forward to what lies ahead, because Mikov has some exciting events and challenges in store.
On September 9—the second Saturday in September—you can meet us at the Nože 2023 exhibition in Příbram. This time, it will be a special event, as the exhibition will also feature a screening of our documentary film “Repetitor—We Cannot Forget.” Also present and ready to answer questions will be Roman Čelanský and Jiří Suda—both direct participants in the Czech military’s UNPROFOR mission who were wounded during a shelling incident—as well as the film’s director, Bedřich Jetelina.
During the exhibition, visitors will also be able to see two unique, specially modified Repetitor knives engraved with the names of both fallen soldiers; embedded in the handle of each is a fragment from the mortar shell that took their lives. As in previous years, you’ll find our booth, where these items will be on display, at its traditional location.
If you can’t make it to Příbram, you can still see the film and the knives at a special exhibition at the Museum of Knife-Making Tradition in Mikulášovice through September 17. Immediately afterward, an auction for them will begin on the Aukro portal.
The beautiful late-summer days are perfect for outings, and the area around Mikulášovice is truly stunning. And since the museum also features our well-stocked shop, where you can buy knives that aren’t available anywhere else, you can test them out right away—perhaps while taking a walk to the Tanečnice observation tower or while mushroom hunting in the surrounding forests.
