Carrying a knife with a clip is often considered a more convenient option that also reduces the risk of losing it. The clip attaches the knife directly to your clothing or belt, eliminating the need for an additional sheath. The knife is quickly within reach. This is useful in situations where you need to use the knife quickly. For example, Mikov designed the Elipt knife and the Rescue Mikov knives specifically with this type of use in mind. The Crocodile knives are also popular models with clips.
However, not all types of folding knives manufactured by Mikov are suitable for a clip. For some, such as hunting knives, this is due to their heavy weight. For small pocket knives, like the Rybička, it doesn’t make sense to add a clip, since many of them are simply carried in a pocket. You can also choose a sheath for your knife, which protects it from damage and can prevent the blade from accidentally opening and causing injury. However, a sheath takes up more space, and when you need the knife, it takes longer to get it ready for use. It also often happens that the sheath stays at home and the owner simply carries the knife in their pocket or backpack.
Whichever option you choose, Mikov offers a wide range of knives to choose from. For example, Mikov supplies hunting folding knives and Predator switchblades with sheaths (though for some models, you can also choose a clip instead of a sheath). For most knives offered without sheaths, you can also purchase a sheath separately.
If you’re still hesitating between a knife with a clip and one without, please keep in mind that when you need a knife, it’s important to have at least one on you.
