Grilling is a popular summer activity that brings family and friends together over delicious meals prepared over an open fire. For the perfect experience, you need a good group of friends, a well-heated grill, and high-quality ingredients. However, these ingredients need to be prepared for grilling, and of course, that requires the right knives.
Cutting and portioning are important not only for ensuring that meat and vegetables cook evenly, but also because they significantly affect the flavor and texture of the final dish. Preparing the ingredients properly shortens grilling time and minimizes waste.
Mikov manufactures and sells chef’s and butcher’s knives that will make these preparations as easy as possible for you. We’ve also put together special promotional sets at discounted prices, featuring a selection of the knives most commonly used for grilling.
The first special set is the RUBY - GRIL. It includes a carving knife for cutting large pieces of meat, a bread knife, a vegetable knife, a paring knife, and two steak knives. An alternative to this is the RUBY - PARTY set . It includes a utility knife, a fruit knife, a vegetable knife, and a paring knife. Finally, for customers who already have knives for preparing ingredients, or who buy pre-prepared meat that just needs to be placed on the grill, Mikov offers the RUBY - STEAK promotional set , which includes four steak knives. (We’ve written about the benefits of steak knives here.)
And before you start grilling, we’d like to share a few tips for safe and easy handling.
- Always use sharp knives, as they not only make the job easier but also reduce the risk of injury. Sharpen the blade regularly with a sharpening steel, and if the knife is dull, you can sharpen it following our instructions.
- Use a stable cutting board that doesn’t move. To prevent it from slipping, you can place a damp cloth underneath it.
- Pay attention to safety. When cutting, hold the knife firmly and make slow, controlled cuts. The fingers of the hand holding the food should be curled to protect them from the blade.
- If you enjoy a glass of beer, a bottle of wine, or something stronger while grilling, be sure to portion the meat and slice the vegetables and bread before you start drinking. Alcohol doesn’t belong behind the wheel—or near knives.
Mikov wishes you a wonderful time at the grill.
