We are pleased to announce that the Officecollection , which we created in collaboration with designer Natálie Navrátilová, has won the prestigious Red DotAward: Product Design 2025. This international recognition is among the world’s most significant awards in the field of product design and confirms to us that Czech craftsmanship and an innovative approach have a firm place in the world.
The Office collection was originally created as a thesis project at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM).
Its goal was to design analog office tools that would be not only fully functional but also aesthetically pleasing—meeting the demands of the modern era. The result is a comprehensive line of office tools: a pencil sharpener, a letter opener, a scalpel, and three types of rulers: a straightedge, a protractor, and a set square. The collection is also available for purchase as a set.
These products combine precise craftsmanship with an eye for detail and a modern design that draws on both tradition and contemporary trends.
The collection was entered into the competition through the Red Dot: Young Professionals Application Dayprogram , which annually gives fifty young designers from around the world the opportunity to present their work to the Red Dot expert jury.
Winning this award is not only a personal achievement for Natálie Navrátilová but also a great recognition for the Mikov brand . It confirms our ability to respond to current trends, collaborate with young talents, and combine traditional Czech craftsmanship with original design.
The award-winning collection will be exhibited at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany , and will also be featured in the officialRed Dot 2025 Yearbook, which annually showcases the world’s best design products.
We view this success as another step in our long-term effort to combine quality, innovation, and tradition.
The Office collection also won an award in the “Best New Product by a Manufacturer” category at the Designblok 2024festival . Its elegant combination of functionality, precise craftsmanship, and modern design makes it an exceptional product in its category.
