The War Veteran Project has long supported Czech war veterans, commemorating their service in overseas missions and, through select special editions of knives, also providing financial assistance to those who need support upon their return. For every knife sold as part of the project, 300 Kč is donated to help war veterans.
The Foxtrot knife was created as a tribute to the five fallen members of the 2nd Squad of the Guard Company of the Czech ISAF contingent—the Foxtrot unit—who gave their lives while serving in Afghanistan on July 8, 2014.
The Foxtrot knife is based on a knife originally designed for Czech soldiers deployed in Afghanistan. It is designed to meet the requirements of units that served under the most demanding conditions of modern conflicts. It combines combat functionality, high durability, high-quality materials, and precise Czech craftsmanship.
A design paying homage to two elite units
Following the example of the Cháron (43rd Airborne Battalion, Chrudim) and Gryphon (41st Mechanized Battalion, Žatec) unit knives, the Foxtrot symbolically blends elements of both designs. The designer is Maj. Roman Hippík, who also created both original models.
The blade combines the characteristic lower edge of the Gryphon knife with the raised tip of the Cháron knife. A new feature is the extended riccaso with a recess in the spine of the knife, which almost mirrors the line of the lower edge for two-thirds of its length.
The leather handle wraps are secured to the tang with a screw, ensuring the strength and durability of the construction.
Durability and Proven Materials
The blade is made of premium N690 steel, known for its toughness, edge stability, and high reliability in demanding conditions.
The DLC coating enhances wear resistance and protects the blade from adverse environmental conditions.
The ergonomic handle is made of black leather, which offers a firm grip and comfort even during prolonged use.
The package includes a leather sheath with a double-clip fastening, designed to ensure safe and stable carrying in the field.
Every piece has its own story
Every FOXTROT knife is marked with the creator’s and manufacturer’s marks, a unique serial number, and the year of manufacture.
Specific numbers cannot be reserved.
The knife is thus not only a functional tool but also a symbolic reminder of the courage of soldiers whose sacrifice will not be forgotten.
