A low-quality copy of the “Rybička” knife has appeared on the market. This copy features the Mikov logo on the blade, although Mikov has nothing to do with its production. The original “Rybička” is sold exclusively in packaging bearing the Mikov logo.
Thanks to its emphasis on production quality and craftsmanship, Mikov provides a seven-year warranty on every product. The inclusion of this warranty on the packaging is another distinguishing feature of the original product.
Counterfeit “little fish” knives are sold in fabric packaging, primarily through the Orion home goods chain and online. This knife has significant defects. These include, in particular, sharp rivets on the knife’s handle, poor blade attachment, and overall shoddy workmanship, which results in a rough cut and causes the knife to dull quickly.
The “Rybička” is a knife with a century-long tradition that the media ranks among the typical symbols of our country. It received an honorable mention as “Czechoslovakia’s Most Famous Knife,” and Mikov earned a “Regional Product of Bohemian Switzerland” certificate for it.
Mikov is based in Mikulášovice in northern Bohemia and is a traditional Czech knife manufacturer. In addition to the “Rybička,” it produces, for example, the Predator switchblade, knives for rescue workers, and hunting knives.
