The travelers from the Czech expedition “Bigtrip—A Fish Around the World,” sponsored by Mikov, will conclude their more than two-year journey on the weekend of October 15 and 16, 2016, in Krásná Lípa and Mikulášovice.
Saturday, October 15, starting at 2:00 p.m., will be dedicated to celebrating the travelers’ return home at Křinické Square in Krásná Lípa. However, the expedition will not officially conclude until Sunday, October 16, at the Mikov company grounds, where the little fish that accompanied Ladislav Bezděk and Kateřina Dvořáková throughout their journey will be handed over to the local Museum of Knife-Making Tradition.
“We already have a whole collection of little fish in the museum, each notable for its own ‘firsts,’ but this is the first time we’ll be placing one that has traveled around the entire world in a place of honor,” said Miloš Pařík, CEO of Mikov.
Among those attending the two-day celebration marking the end of the expedition will be local Senator Zbyněk Linhart, Krásná Lípa Mayor Jan Kolář, Mikulášovice Mayor Miluše Trojanová, and Mikov CEO Miloš Pařík.
“We’ll celebrate the fish’s return to the factory museum together with visitors not only with free goulash but also with the chance to ride a steam train,” added Pařík, noting that anyone for whom even this offer isn’t enough can also take advantage of a free tour of the museum and a special 25% discount on purchases at the company store.
