For Mikov, a traditional Czech knife manufacturer, social media is key to communicating with customers. The vast majority of Mikov’s followers are men between the ages of 25 and 45, but there are also women and girls among its fans.
“Like any modern company, we pay close attention to our communication on Facebook, where we receive excellent feedback on our products. However, social media for us is by no means limited to just Facebook,” said Petr Balej, the company’s sales director.
Instagram, a platform focused on visual content, is seeing steadily growing interest and an increasing number of followers, with Mikov posting at least one photo of one of its knives every day.
“Instagram is also where we occasionally post photos of some of our concept designs or upcoming models even before their official launch, so true fans of the brand know it’s worth following our profile,” Balej revealed.
In addition to Facebook and Instagram, Mikov also maintains an active corporate YouTube channel, LinkedIn, Tumblr, and Twitter account. Through Twitter, the company not only highlights its products but also comments on current social, economic, and historical events.
“Although our primary goal is, of course, to provide updates on what’s happening at the company, we’re glad that we’ve managed to build a lively ‘guys’ community’ around our social media channels—one that any woman can feel free to join,” concluded Balej.
