The Czech company Conmetron, spol. s r. o., has become the new owner of Mikov. At the same time, there was a change in the position of CEO, with Karel Ježek replacing Miloš Pařík.
“This is actually something of a return to our roots, because Conmetron was originally a subsidiary of Mikov,” said the new CEO, Karel Ježek. “The main goal of the transaction was to strengthen Czech ownership in the company, where I see great human and technical potential for further development.”
Even after the change in ownership, Mikov will remain an independent company that will continue to focus primarily on the production of cutlery and tools.
“When selling the company, it was extremely important to me that the new owner be firmly rooted in this region and that their priority be for Mikov to continue strengthening its position in the cutlery market,” stated former owner Miloš Pařík.
In recent years, Mikov has introduced a number of new products to the market alongside its classic knives. Among the most successful is the small fixed-blade knife called List. The Elipt folding knife, which was unveiled at this year’s IWA OutdoorClassic trade show in Nuremberg, has generated significant interest. However, the company also has other new knife releases planned for 2017.
