The integration of Mikov and Conmetron, which began in the spring of 2017 when Mikov was acquired by Conmetron, has reached its final stage, and only Mikov s.r.o. now operates on the Czech market.
“The merger will improve production efficiency, enhance the company’s logistics, and streamline the sales and finance departments. This will have a particularly positive impact on our business partners and customers,” said Mikov Director Karel Ježek.
The Conmetron facility, located in Lipová, will now primarily serve as a warehouse and shipping center, while core production, sales, and technical operations will be concentrated in Mikulášovice. However, the merger of the companies does not simply mean relocating operations, but above all integrating internal administrative systems and streamlining company management.
“We have been carefully planning the entire process for a long time to ensure that it does not disrupt production or shipping. Now that we have completed the administrative part of the merger, we are beginning the physical relocation so that all operations and warehouses will be fully functional at their new locations by the end of 2017,” added Karel Ježek.
Even after merging with Conmetron, Mikov remains the largest Czech manufacturer of sports, hunting, outdoor, and utility knives. At the same time, it is taking over fromConmetron as the largest Czech manufacturer of office and industrial fasteners and small office equipment produced under the RON brand. In doing so, it continues not only the centuries-old tradition of this manufacturing in the Bohemian-Saxon Switzerland region but also the development of the Mikov brand’s more than sixty-year history, which has made the company famous worldwide for its production of knives and office equipment. Among the brand’s best-known products are, above all, the iconic “Rybička,” the UTON military knife, the legendary Predator switchblade, and the very popular modern List knife.
