Fifteen award-winning participants in the week-long international forestry skills competition, which takes place from April 16 to 21 in Brno and the surrounding area, will take home Mikov folding knives. Sixty university students from forestry schools in 15 countries will participate in the competition, titled “Forestry Versatility.”
Events such as chainsaw cutting, shooting, orienteering, and tracking will take place on the campus of Masaryk University, in Křtiny near Brno, in Holubice near Vyškov, in Brno’s Lužánky Park, and at Křtiny Castle.
“This partnershipis important to us not only because hunters and foresters are among our traditional customers, but also because, as a company, we want to support events related to education and universities,”said Martin David, Mikova’s sales director.
The “Forestry Versatility”competition is organized by the Student Association of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences at Mendel University. Mikov is the largest Czech manufacturer of cutlery and small office equipment, and forestry and hunting knives are among its core products. In addition to its existing Fixir and Hunter product lines, the company plans to offer hunters two new products this year—the Hubert and Princ folding knives.
