A grand opening ceremony will mark the start of an exhibition at the Czech Police Museum in Prague featuring Mikov knives, which are used by law enforcement and security agencies or were designed for sporting and self-defense purposes.
The main focus will be on the UTON military knife, the Predator folding knife, and its Rescue variant for emergency response teams. Visitors will learn about the history of these knives and their various modifications.
Likewise, the inclusion of the traditional “Rybička” knife in the exhibition at the Czech Police Museum is not merely for show, as it illustrates a specific case in which an attacked woman was able to neutralize her assailant with its help.
The exhibition will also explore the history of cutlery making in Bohemian Switzerland and the town of Mikulášovice, where the Mikov company is based. It will also showcase other types of knives manufactured there, including the famous F-S dagger. This dagger was part of the equipment of British special forces during World War II, and Czechoslovak paratroopers were also armed with it. Mikov still manufactures this dagger today under the name “Commandos.”
The opening ceremony will begin at the Museum of the Police of the Czech Republic (Ke Karlovu 1, Prague 2) on Wednesday, May 23, at 3:00 p.m. The exhibition will then be open daily (except Mondays) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through December 21, 2018. Additional special events will accompany the exhibition throughout its run.
