Would you like to help create a legendary knife, like the Rybička or the Predator? Let’s do this together. The contest rules are simple:
- Anyone who submits a design for a new knife that could be included in the company’s small-batch production is eligible to enter the contest.
- The design can be for any knife that fits into Mikova’s product line.
- The design for the new knife must be submitted along with basic technical drawings
- Entrants should send their designs in PDF format to the email address info@mikov.cz. From the submitted entries, the jury will select the three best designs, which will receive awards. The evaluation criteria are originality, practical value, design, and a construction that allows for mass production.
- The contestwinner will receive a Pocket knife + a voucher for Mikova products worth 5,000 CZK; second place will be awarded a Predator knife + a voucher for Mikova products worth 3,000 CZK; and third place will receive a List knife.
- By submitting a design, the author grants the company the right to mass-produce it. In such a case, a formal contract will be concluded with the author, and the author will receive a commission based on the number of units sold.
- If the knife enters mass production, the designer agrees to respect the technical limitations of production and to cooperate in the preparation of manufacturing processes and detailed technical drawings.
- Mikov reserves the right not to put any of the submitted designs into production, including award-winning entries.
- The contest deadline is November 30, 2018; the results will be announced by December 24, 2018.
