We love the Rybička. It’s not only our oldest, best-known, and best-selling knife, but it’s also a knife that leaves almost no one indifferent—and one that many of our customers associate with pivotal moments in their lives.
Stories about Rybička reach us in various ways. They arrive by regular mail, written in somewhat shaky handwriting on stationery; we come across them on social media; or we open them in our company email inbox. And sometimes we read them in newspapers or books.
And so we learn from a book that Rybička is part of surgeon Tomáš Šebek’s equipment on his missions to crisis areas with Doctors Without Borders. From the Museum of the Police of the Czech Republic, we also know of a case where Rybička neutralized an attacker who had mugged a young woman.
We also have a carefully preserved letter in which a former racehorse jockey describes how Rybička, which he had with him, saved his life after he fell from a horse, as he was able to use it to cut through the stirrup in which his foot was trapped while the horse was dragging him along the ground.
Or we’ve heard our customers tell stories about how they included Rybička in a Christmas package for their grandfather as a small token to go with an expensive Christmas gift. Grandpa was pleased with the gift, but Rybička truly brought a smile to his face, as it brought back his fondest childhood memories.
