Mikov’s booth at the IWA Outdoor Classics 2019 trade show attracted visitors from the industry not only with its new design and larger space, but above all with its wide selection of knives—including both new releases and traditional products.

“Many visitors to the Mikov exhibit emphasized to us that, among dozens of other exhibitors, Mikov knives stand out for their originality,” said Martin David, Mikov’s sales director. “This was particularly true of the Predator switchblades, the Pocket series of designer pocket knives, and the military-grade UTON.”

This year, the company brought prototypes of the Predator made from N690 steel with Raffir handles to Nuremberg as a new product. All Predator models were by far the most sought-after knives.

“It turns out that foreign business partners, in particular, place a strong emphasis on quality and design. That’s one reason we’ve seen such strong interest in the Pocket knife set, designed by the Olgoj Chorchoj studio,” added David, noting that this interest confirms that “the design awards Pocket has won were certainly no coincidence.”

The Patron knives, the Princ and Hubert hunting knives, as well as other traditional products from the company, also attracted interest. A display of woodcarving chisels from Mikov’s new acquisition—the hand tool manufacturer Narex Bystřice—also drew attention.

Mikov is the traditional and largest Czech manufacturer of cutlery, office equipment, industrial fasteners, and nailers. Since 2019, Narex Bystřice has also been part of Mikov.
