This country, located on the Scandinavian Peninsula, has a rich history. There was even a time when its history intersected with ours—namely, during the Thirty Years’ War, when Swedish troops (unsuccessfully) besieged Prague and Brno. But that is all in the past.
Today, Sweden is a prosperous democratic country that we have no reason to fear, as it has long maintained political neutrality. Although it lies in the north, thanks to the Gulf Stream, it doesn’t experience bitterly cold winters. This does not apply, however, to the very northern part of the country, where in summer you’ll encounter the endless polar day and in winter, conversely, the polar night.
Sweden is a beautiful country, and perhaps it could be your vacation destination this summer. Maybe you’d like to explore where the famous director Ingmar Bergman lived, where the famous pop group ABBA came from, or where the headquarters of the popular furniture store IKEA is located.
