The Military Solidarity Fund will receive 100,000 crowns from the sale of a limited-edition officer’s version of the M-1917 knife, which was officially unveiled in July in the presence of Aleš Opata, Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces.
The goal ofthe “WarVeteran”projectis to combine the commemoration of the heroism of Czech and Czechoslovak soldiers with humanitarian aid for the families of fallen soldiers and for soldiers who have lost their health while performing their duties.
“As part of the project, we plan to release one knife per year inspired by one of our army’s significant military missions. For every knife sold, we will always contribute to the Military Solidarity Fund, just as we do with the M-1917 knife. Specifically, the fund receives 500 CZK for every M-1917 knife sold,” said Martin David, sales director at Mikov.
The M-1917 knife, which is modeled after a knife from the estate of war hero Army General Josef Bílý, is also intended as a tribute to this exceptional man. Currently, fewer than twenty knives remain available for customers to order.
The Military Solidarity Fund was established in 2015 and supports soldiers and their families who, through no fault of their own, find themselves in difficult life situations. As the largest Czech manufacturer of knives and office equipment—and owner of the hand tool manufacturer Narex Bystřice—Mikov is using the “War Veteran” project to establish long-term and systematic financial support for the Military Solidarity Fund.
