“Even though we put a lot of effort into reaching out to customers on social media, through newsletters, video clips, and our regular blog, personal contact with customers at trade shows and exhibitions remains important to us. After all, knife enthusiasts are mostly people who value tradition,” said Martin David, sales director at Mikov.
Mikov’s staff receive direct feedback from specific individuals who can try out the knives on the spot and share their ideas and observations with company representatives.
“It’s an invaluable experience,” added Martin Kováčik from the company’s sales department, who was in charge of the company’s presentation at the September Nože 2019 exhibition in Příbram. “At this event, too, we encountered great interest from customers in purchasing all types of knives, and at the same time, we’re taking away interesting suggestions that we can pass on to our colleagues in production.”
Mikov is not only a long-time participant and sponsor of the Příbram exhibition—where its booth was among the largest this year—but also participates in a number of exhibitions and trade shows abroad. This October, for example, the company will attend the hunting fair in Moscow, and for next year, it plans to participate in specialized events in Poland, Austria, and Germany. For Mikov, the traditional highlight of this type of presentation is always its booth at the IWA Outdoor Classic trade fair in Nuremberg.
Mikov is a long-established manufacturer of cutlery, office equipment, and industrial fasteners, headquartered in Mikulášovice, which lies in the heart of “Bohemian Switzerland.” The company also owns Narex Bystřice, a Czech manufacturer of hand tools.
