This year is slowly coming to an end, and that gives us a chance to look back at what it has brought. For Mikov, it was certainly an eventful year.
A major and significant development came right in January, when our company acquired the hand tool manufacturer Narex Bystřice. The Mikov Group has thus expanded its product range beyond knives, office equipment, and industrial fasteners to include, for example, chisels, screwdrivers, and woodcarving tools.
As for new knife releases, 2019 was unquestionably the year of kitchen knives. We launched the complete Ruby set, which offers a total of ten knives—including an oval sharpening steel—ensuring there’s something for everyone.
The Ruby knives, therefore, fall more into the category of practical tools. The War Veteran project, which we launched with a limited edition of the M-1917 trench knife, falls into the category of initiatives through which we primarily aim to bring joy. Owning a brand-new military knife is sure to delight collectors, but also those who receive assistance from the Military Solidarity Fund, to which we donate 500 Kč from every knife sold.
That was by no means all. In 2019, many seemingly minor events took place here as well—for example, in February we launched this regular blog, where we bring you something new and interesting every week. And we plan to continue this into 2020, a year for which we’re also preparing a number of other new features for you.
There’s a lot to look forward to.
