It might seem trivial to you, since it happens every year—what else would December be without it? But this year isn’t like any other. And yet, it’s still true at Christmas. Or maybe that’s exactly why.
No matter how you view Christmas itself, for most of us it’s tied to one main idea—bringing joy to those we love. And that’s perhaps even more important this year than it has been in past years.
At Mikov, we manufacture knives, office supplies, staplers, and nail guns, and at our subsidiary, Narex Bystřice, we produce hand tools. And of course, we hope that it will be our products that bring joy this Christmas. It couldn’t be any other way, because every knife, chisel, or stapler we sell ensures a paycheck for dozens of our employees in northern and central Bohemia. But that alone wouldn’t be enough.
Let’s try this year to bring joy in a slightly different way than with just an ordinary gift. Let’s start thinking today about how our loved ones will know that we truly care about them. For example, find a beautiful story in their lives, a joyful memory, or—conversely—a wish or aspiration for the future, and tie that into a gift. And try to think about how to present, wrap, and decorate the gift in a way that emphasizes how much the person you’re giving it to means to you.
