An uninitiated person who sees photos of the machines in our workshops might think, “This is just a regular industrial factory.” But we don’t see it that simply. Yes, you’ll find presses, grinders, lathes, hardening furnaces, and milling machines here. But what comes out at the end of the production process isn’t just some component that gets used up and thrown away in a very short time. At the end of our efforts stands a knife!
Yes, we know full well that some knives also wear out very quickly and are discarded. But others, on the contrary, last for ages; stories are tied to them, they evoke emotions, and they can literally become historical treasures. And we never know which of the hundreds and thousands of knives we send out into the world will meet this very fate. The truth is that some types are more destined for this than others. And we’ll find out precisely thanks to you, our customers.
We’re very interested in hearing your thoughts—what your wishes are, what you like, and, conversely, what bothers you about our knives. Of course, our opinions and yours don’t always align, and it’s not always possible to quickly bring everything you, as customers, wish for to life. Factory production is a bit like a large ocean-going ship: even after the helmsman turns the wheel, it takes a long time for the ship to actually change course. But once it does, it’s on a new course!
And so, in addition to reading your emails and letters and listening carefully when you call us, we’re also very happy to see groups of you—Mikov knife fans—forming. Whether it’s the Listonoši, who are fans of our little EDC List, websites focused on UTON military knives, or even the Mikov fan group on Facebook. Thank you very much for your feedback; we take your support as a great commitment.
Occasionally, we offer special discounts to members of these fan groups. Recently, for example, there was a significant discount on UTON, but we all know that’s not why anyone joins a group—because fandom is, above all, a matter of the heart. For us, this makes it all the more binding. Because then we know for sure that, together with you, we’re a team.
