The easing of quarantine measures has allowed us to reopen the Museum of Knife-Making Traditions. You can visit it daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., including Saturdays and Sundays, at the Municipal Information Center in Mikulášovice.
At the museum, you can not only view over 2,500 exhibits chronicling local cutlery and small-scale industrial production, but you can also purchase a souvenir from a wide selection of knives at the Mikova company store.
Among other things, you can also view rare and valuable exhibits from limited-edition knife series that are practically impossible to find today—whether it’s, for example, the first version of the “Rybička” knife for Nespresso, the military UTON with a green handle issued to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the republic, or the M-1917 officer’s knife.
In addition to viewing the exhibits at the museum, you can also watch a historical television documentary about the Mikov company or pick up some interesting promotional materials.
So if you’re planning a trip to Bohemian Switzerland, the Museum of Knife-Making Tradition should definitely be on your itinerary.
