This year, Mikov partnered with former motorcycle racer Ondřej Klymčiw, who competed in the Classic category with a significantly upgraded Škoda 130 LR. Our “Rybička” thus became not only a promotional item for the entire crew, but also personally accompanied them throughout the competition—as the photo clearly shows.
Although they say it’s not about winning but about participating, every competitor still enters such a race with the goal of at least making it onto the podium. In a race as demanding as the Dakar undoubtedly is, however, a good dose of luck is needed in addition to unquestionable driving skill. That luck didn’t come this year, even though fourteenth place is still a great result. Congratulations!
And of course, we’re still keeping our fingers crossed and really hope that next year will be the one—ideally with a gold medal.
