King Charles III owns an exclusive Predator knife

When Brno Mayor Onderka presented Crown Prince Charles with a Mikovácký Predator knife featuring a Damascus blade in 2010, he demonstrated how it worked. He pressed the lever, the blade opened quickly, the prince’s security detail took notice, but the prince remained stoically calm.

We consider it an honor that our knife—which, thanks to its original design and the quality of the materials used, ranks among the very best we offer on the market—is owned by the current British King Charles III.

The Damascus steel of the knife’s blade is created by forge-welding two types of steel. This gives the blade an interesting structure, but more importantly, it combines two essential properties of any knife—high hardness and great toughness.

The handle of King Charles III’s knife was made from deer antler, but this model of the Predator knife is also often fitted with other natural materials, most commonly stabilized bone, buffalo horn, camel bone, or even meteorite or slices of a woolly mammoth’s tooth. The choice of handle material depends on the future owner’s preference.

MIkov continues the tradition of industrial knife production in Bohemian Switzerland, which dates back to 1794, though the craft of knife-making itself is hundreds of years older in the region. The company offers a complete range of cutlery products and has been manufacturing Predator knives since the late 1980s.

In addition to being suitable gifts for distinguished individuals, Predator knives have also made appearances in the Bond film *Casino Royale*, the action movie *Largo Winch*, and most recently in the new Netflix series *LOU*.
