Micarta is a registered trademark of the American company Norplex, Inc. Essentially, it is a high-density laminate—that is, fibers soaked in resin that are then pressed together under high pressure and at high temperatures. This makes Micarta harder than wood, bone, horn, or antler.
It is supplied in sheets, from which the handles are then machined on CNC machines. The surface texture of the Repetitor military knife’s handle is additionally machined to ensure a safer grip, since Micarta itself has no inherent texture.
The result is an attractive, lightweight, and sturdy handle material that resists scratches well. Additionally, it is water-resistant and does not slip in the hand when the knife is used in damp conditions. It also provides good electrical insulation. Since it is manufactured in many variations, it was possible to choose a color for the Repetitor’s handle that reminds older generations of the legendary bayonet for the Model 58 submachine gun, which served as the inspiration for the Repetitor.
The Repetitor is a military knife, but it also has uses in everyday outdoor activities. With every purchase, customers also contribute 300 Kč to the Military Solidarity Fund. This fund helps the families of soldiers who have died or suffered injuries while fulfilling their duties in service to their country.
