“The exhibition is, above all, a tribute to our friends Luděk Zeman and Petr Valeš, who died during a mortar attack on a mission on August 5, 1995,” said Roman Čelanský, one of the exhibition’s curators, who himself was injured in the bombardment.

The exhibition features not only artifacts from the observation post located between Croatian soldiers and members of the Army of the Serbian Krajina, but visitors can also learn about the history of the UNPROFOR and UNCRO missions, the personal stories of both fallen soldiers, and get an exclusive look at a 30-minute documentary about this year’s visit by veterans to the summit of Repetitor, which provides context for the description of the tragic events.
You can watch the trailer for the documentary here.

During their visit to Repetitor, all mission participants present received Repetitor knives engraved with their names and ranks. As a result, two exceptional Repetitor knives—bearing the names of Luděk Zeman and Petr Valeš—are unique exhibits in the exhibition; their handles are embedded with shrapnel from the grenade that killed both soldiers. These shrapnel fragments were donated by veteran Jiří Suda, who was also injured in the explosion. Both knives will be auctioned on the Aukro portal starting September 17. The package also includes a brochure signed by soldiers from Tango 23 – Repetitor and an original vintage UNPROFOR patch. The knives come in a gift box.

The exhibition is the latest in a series of activities by Mikov to support war veterans, including, for example, its long-term support of the Military Solidarity Fund through the “War Veteran” project. Mikov is the largest Czech knife manufacturer, exporting its products worldwide. The best-known knives in its portfolio are the military UTON, the folding Predator, and the classic Rybička. In addition, Mikov is also the licensed manufacturer of the bayonet for the Bren2 assault rifle under a license from the Colt CZ Group.
