Personal Responsibility

The knives we produce in Czech Switzerland have found their place in the domestic and foreign markets. We provide a small series; we want them to be unique in their design and artistry. And to let the customer know when buying a Mikov knife that they hold guaranteed quality in their hands.

So we are not competing with Asian manufacturers who flood the market with millions of interchangeable knives every day.  Or with hi-tech companies whose knives are (in many cases) not actually touched by the human hand, and with manufacturers who make custom-made knives.

Our production combines state-of-the-art technology of numerically controlled machine tools, presses, and grinders with the manual work of experienced cutters. We believe that only a true master can, for example, estimate how to cut the antler on the handle properly. And similar operations, which require thinking and knack, we find in the production of almost every knife.

But even the greatest master can ever make a mistake, and we have to figure it out before the knife leaves the expedition and goes to the customer. Knife components, therefore, undergo several continuous checks during production. In the end, each knife is inspected by the final inspection, and in the enclosed certificate, you will see the stamp or signature of the responsible worker who released the knife to you.

If you receive a product with defects, we ask you to provide us with a confirmation from the final inspection during the complaint, which will help us to warn you of similar errors for the next time.

It is also possible that you will still receive a knife that does not have this quality certificate. This is because it was produced before we introduced such an output control. However, our experience is that in more than a year of its existence, complaints have come to us only minimally.

Personal responsibility bears fruit.
