Original is Original

Copying successful products is a nuisance all brands have to deal with. And, in a way, any company could be "honoured" by being worth plagiarizing; in fact, none of the serious manufacturers wants such "honour". Unfortunately, plagiarisms are something our brand also has to deal with.

Probably the most famous case of recent years was copying the legendary Rybička. In 2015, this attracted quite a lot of attention. It even hit the Customs, and everything ended up in a court where "Domácí potřeby Orion" was sentenced to damages, and the fake Rybička had failed. The company sold the unsuccessful Rybička with the Mikov logo.

But of course, Rybička is not the only case. In some military equipment stores you can find copies of UTONs, on the Internet you will find copies of ejector blades Predator. Of course, the price of plagiarism is lower, but the quality is also poor - be it is constructional or craftsmanship.

We receive questions from customers on how to recognize if the knife is genuine and how not to be taken in by dubious traders. So:

  1. Shop ideally at our e-shop or reputable dealers.
  2. When purchasing, make sure the blade bears the logo of Mikov.
  3. Each knife should be packed with a signature from the final inspection. (It is possible that some sellers still have older supplies where this ticket is missing, but it is always good to inquire about it.)
  4. If in doubt, you can contact us directly, send us a photo of the knife and the information where you bought it. We will be happy to advise you.
  5. If you have purchased plagiarism that claims to be an original from Mikov, please complain to the seller, and let us know. We will take serious action.
