Combat Knife FLASH In 2024, the 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade celebrated the 30th anniversary of its founding. To mark this occasion, the brigade’s command decided to commemorate the milestone with the creation of a new combat knife that would both embody the symbolism of the 4th Brigade and serve as a practical piece of equipment for its soldiers. In cooperation with Mikov s.r.o. and Major Roman Hippík, the development of a new knife began under the working name FLASH. The design was inspired by the legendary UTON knife, which was part of the brigade’s standard issue equipment at the time of its formation.
The brigade’s motivational slogan at its inception was “WHERE OTHERS FALL SHORT”, and it also bears the honorary title “DEFENDERS OF THE NATION.” The combination of this slogan and honorary title led the brigade’s command to name the knife TAMON.
Following an agreement with Mikov s.r.o., the brigade’s command has now decided to make the TAMON knife available to the civilian market. However, it will be sold under its original working name FLASH, in an entirely black design including the sheath, and without the brigade’s insignia.
The FLASH combat knife features a full-tang construction with an upswept-point blade and Cerakote surface finish. Its ergonomic handle scales are made from Canvas Micarta, and the sheath is made from black Kydex.
Technical specifications: Blade material: N690 (58–60 HRc) Blade finish: Cerakote Handle material: Micarta/Black Sheath material: Kydex Overall length: 285 mm Blade length: 149 mm Blade width: 30 mm Blade thickness: 4.25 mm Weight (knife only): 245 g Weight (with sheath): 373 g
