Replica of a historical firefighter’s axe.
The firefighter’s axe (sometimes also called a firefighter’s sabre or dagger) is a specific sidearm that was an integral part of firefighters’ equipment mainly in the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. While today it serves exclusively decorative and ceremonial purposes, in the past it was a functional tool.
